Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cutting Master Tailor role based in Kuala Lumpur. The Cutting Master Tailor will be responsible for taking accurate body measurements, interpreting design specifications, and drafting and cutting fabric patterns for a variety of garments. The role includes supervising garment construction to ensure correct fit and fall, conducting fittings, and making precise alterations as needed. The Cutting Master Tailor will work closely with customers to understand their preferences, provide style and fabric recommendations, and ensure timely completion of orders. Daily tasks also include maintaining cutting tools and workstations, monitoring fabric usage to reduce waste, and collaborating with other tailoring staff to uphold quality standards.
Qualifications

  • Strong tailoring and dressmaking skills, including pattern drafting, cutting, and garment construction.
  • Proficiency in fitting and alterations to achieve accurate sizing, comfort, and garment balance.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to work with various fabrics and designs.
  • Previous experience as a master cutter, tailor, or similar role in a bespoke or high-quality garment workshop.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in Kuala Lumpur and manage workload to meet deadlines.
  • Basic numeracy and measurement skills; ability to read and interpret design sketches and technical specifications.
  • Commitment to a safe, organized, and inclusive workplace; willingness to train and support junior staff is an advantage.
