Kontena Nasional Berhad Hiring! Full Time Information Technology (IT) Operations Lead in Selangor - Ricebowl

Manage day‑to‑day IT operations, infrastructure, application support, and vendor coordination for the subsidiary, in alignment with IT strategy, cybersecurity governance, and technical standards defined by the Company.

Responsibilities

IT Strategy Implementation

·      Implement IT policies, roadmap initiatives, and standards issued by Group IT.

·      Translate Group IT directives into operational actions at subsidiary level.

·      Provide implementation feedback and operational input to Group IT.

IT Operations & Infrastructure Management

·      Oversee daily IT operations covering:

o   Servers, storage, network, user access, email systems, (AD, DNS, DHCP)

o   Network (LAN/ WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, wireless)

o   IT security (firewalls, endpoint protection, access control)

o   End‑user computing and IT helpdesk

·      Ensure system availability, backups, monitoring, and issue resolution.

·      Coordinate routine maintenance, patching, and housekeeping with vendors.

·      Escalate major incidents to management and Group IT where required.

Vendor & Managed Services Coordination

·     Act as primary IT liaison between the company and multiple IT vendors for:

o   Cloud backup

o   Disaster recovery services

o   Server infrastructure and system backups

·      Monitor vendor performance and SLA compliance.

·      Coordinate vendor support during incidents, upgrades, and recovery exercises.

Cybersecurity & Risk (Guided Role)

·      Implement cybersecurity controls and practices as guided by Group IT.

·      Ensure compliance with access control, password policies, endpoint protection.

·      Support cybersecurity assessments, audits, and reviews coordinated by Group IT.

·      Escalate cyber incidents promptly to Group IT and management.

DRP / BCP – Shared Responsibility

·      Support DRP/BCP planning and testing

·      Ensure operational readiness during DR / recovery exercises.

·      Maintain updated documentation and execution logs.

Budgeting & CAPEX (Proposal Role)

·      Prepare IT budget proposals, justifications, and cost estimates.

·      Provide operational input for CAPEX and OPEX planning.

·      Monitor spending against approved budgets.

Team & Stakeholder Management

·      Manage and guide IT staff on daily operations and task allocation.

·      Coordinate IT requests from other departments.

·      Communicate system updates and IT notices where applicable.

·      Produce regular operational reports for HOD and management.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System,

or related technical discipline. 

·      Professional certifications preferred (e.g. MCSE, CCNA/CCNP, ITIL, VMware,

cybersecurity certifications). 

Experience 

·      6 – 8 years total IT experience (2 – 3 years in IT leadership or managerial capacity).

·      Hands on exposure in Infrastructure support, Application systems support, Vendor

coordination, IT service delivery environments, & Cybersecurity.

·      Familiar with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transport Management

Systems (TMS).

·      Experience in logistics or supply chain environment is an added advantage. 

Technical Competencies 

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, Virtualisation (VMware/ Hyper‑V) 
• Network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, routers, SDWAN, VPN) 
• Database systems (SQL Server, Informix, etc.) 
• Application development lifecycle (VB, .NET, ASP.NET, integrations) 
• Understanding of cloud technologies and cybersecurity frameworks. 
• Ability to plan DRP/BCP and manage data centre operations.
