Orius Digital is Malaysia's only Shopify Premier Partner agency — a full-service digital partner for retail and ecommerce brands across strategy, creative, technology, and growth. We work with D2C brands, FMCG players, fashion labels, and B2B businesses to build, optimise, and grow their digital commerce presence.
We are expanding our Growth practice to bring best-in-class organic search and AI visibility capabilities to our clients — and we're looking for someone ready to do the work, own accounts, and help shape how we deliver it.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As SEO Manager at Orius , you will lead organic search and AI engine optimisation (GEO/AEO) across a portfolio of client accounts — spanning ecommerce brands, D2C labels, B2B companies, and consumer brands. This is a hands-on, execution-first role: you will be the one doing the audits, running the keyword research, writing the strategy docs, pulling the reports, and managing the roadmaps. You are not here to manage a team of practitioners — you are the practitioner.
At the same time, you will help establish how Orius structures and delivers this service — building the playbooks, templates, and processes that make the practice consistent and scalable as we grow. Think: someone who is equally comfortable opening Screaming Frog at 9am and presenting a quarterly strategy to a client at 3pm.
The space is moving fast. AI Search and GEO are reshaping how brands get discovered, and we want someone who finds that genuinely exciting — who experiments, stays ahead of the curve, and brings fresh thinking to a practice that is still being defined.
What you'll do
Hands-on client execution
- Run technical SEO audits yourself — crawl the site, identify issues across indexation, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, and structured data, and produce client-facing reports with clear action priorities
- Do the keyword research, build the content maps, and produce detailed briefs that writers and designers can actually execute against — not just an outline
- Implement and oversee on-page optimisation directly: meta data, headings, internal linking, content hierarchy, and page-level fixes
- Build and execute link acquisition campaigns — outreach, digital PR, authority building — suited to each client's vertical and competitive landscape
- Handle local SEO programmes end-to-end: Google Business Profile management, citation cleanup, and location-based keyword strategy
- Own ecommerce SEO for Shopify clients: category architecture, faceted navigation handling, product and collection schema, Shopify-specific URL and crawl considerations
- Lead GEO and AEO execution: optimise client content and technical setup for LLM visibility — cited page tracking, ************* implementation, conversational content frameworks, and AI Overview targeting
- Oversee SEO for site migrations: URL mapping, redirect logic, metadata specs, robots/sitemap guidance, and post-launch monitoring
Strategy, reporting & client communication
- Own the SEO and GEO strategy for each assigned client — building annual and quarterly roadmaps that account for both traditional search performance and AI search visibility
- Build and maintain KPI dashboards; monitor performance proactively and surface insights before clients ask — own GSC, rank tracking, and AI visibility reporting
- Plan and lead regular client calls and monthly reporting presentations — translating complex SEO thinking into language that drives alignment and builds trust
- Be the primary client contact for all SEO and GEO matters: handling strategic conversations, fielding questions confidently, and recommending next steps with a clear point of view
Practice building
- Define and document Orius's SEO and GEO service delivery framework — intake, audit, strategy, execution, reporting — so the practice scales consistently as more clients come on board
- Build reusable playbooks, templates, SOPs, and content brief formats that reduce ramp-up time on new accounts
- Collaborate closely with Orius's technology and creative teams — ensure SEO best practices are embedded from the start of any Shopify build, not retrofitted at the end
- Support new business conversations with audits, scoping inputs, and pricing guidance where required
- Stay ahead of algorithm updates, AI search developments, and emerging GEO strategies — and bring that knowledge back into the practice
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- 3–5 years of hands-on SEO experience — agency background strongly preferred, where you have juggled multiple client accounts at once and delivered across different verticals
- Demonstrable results — you can point to specific campaigns, ranking improvements, or traffic outcomes you personally drove, not just managed
- Ecommerce SEO experience is strongly preferred; Shopify platform familiarity — URL structures, theme constraints, Shopify-specific crawl behaviour — is a significant advantage
- Exposure to GEO, AI Search, or LLM visibility optimisation is a plus — or a genuine hunger to develop this as a core skill
- Experience working across client types (D2C, FMCG, B2B, fashion/lifestyle) is valued
Skills & capabilities
- Strong technical SEO foundations — you can run your own crawls, read a log file, diagnose a crawl budget issue, and communicate it clearly to a client and a developer
- Confident keyword researcher and content strategist — you know how to build topical authority, structure a content pillar, and brief a writer properly
- Analytical — comfortable in GA4, Search Console, and rank tracking tools without needing a hand
- Client-facing confidence — you can hold a room, field tough questions, and present a strategic point of view without hiding behind data
- Self-organised and process-minded — you build structure around your work, document what you learn, and do not need micromanagement to stay on top of multiple accounts
- Scrappy and hardworking — energised by the challenge of building something, not just maintaining it
- Collaborative — you work well with developers, designers, and account managers; you understand that integrated SEO is the most effective SEO
