Company Description Rise Intervention Programme Sdn Bhd (RISE) is an early intervention center focused on holistic development for children on the autism spectrum, with the aim of preparing them for admission into mainstream learning environments. The center provides individualized education plans to support each child’s learning process and bridge competency gaps while building confidence. RISE emphasizes sustainable, step-by-step development by understanding how children interact with their environment to help them reach their full potential. Programs include play-based learning for young toddlers and structured early intervention sessions that use varied teaching techniques and materials. These programs focus on readiness for mainstream education and improvement in communication and motor development.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Special Educator role based in Petaling Jaya. The Special Educator will design and implement individualized education plans for children on the autism spectrum, using play-based and structured teaching methods aligned with RISE’s early intervention curriculum. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-to-one and small-group sessions, preparing and adapting learning materials (e.g., toys, books, worksheets, flashcards), and tracking each child’s progress in communication, social, cognitive, and motor skills. The role also involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, communicating regularly with parents and caregivers, and contributing to transition plans for children entering mainstream education. The Special Educator is expected to maintain accurate documentation, participate in team meetings and trainings, and uphold a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience working with children with disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder.
- Strong teaching skills, with the ability to plan, deliver, and adapt lessons for early intervention and pre–middle school levels.
- Background in special education, including designing individualized education plans and using varied instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging children, collaborating with colleagues, and partnering with parents and caregivers.
- Diploma or degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage behavior positively in a structured learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Basic record-keeping, observation, and progress-reporting skills; familiarity with early intervention best practices is an advantage.
