Company Description Trisystems provides products and engineering services primarily for the oil & gas and petrochemical industries, delivering integrated solutions across complex industrial environments. As a system integrator, the company offers end-to-end capabilities including safety systems, advanced software solutions, process packages, fire protection, filtration, combustion, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. An experienced team of engineers delivers full EPCC services, from consultancy and conceptual design to functional design specifications (FDS), detailed engineering, and programming. Trisystems also manages system integration and testing, as well as on-site installation and commissioning. Team members work in a multidisciplinary environment that supports technically challenging, real-world industrial projects.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Automation Engineer role based in Shah Alam. The Automation Engineer will design, develop, and implement automation and control solutions for oil & gas and petrochemical projects, including configuring PLC, DCS, and related control systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing control logic, preparing technical documentation, and supporting the development of functional design specifications in line with project requirements and industry standards. The role involves troubleshooting automation and electrical issues, performing system integration and factory/site acceptance testing, and supporting installation, commissioning, and start-up activities at customer sites. The Automation Engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients and vendors, and ensure that all work adheres to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in Automation and Process Control, with hands-on experience in PLC/DCS configuration, control loop design, and industrial automation systems.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to control panels, instrumentation, power distribution, and industrial safety standards.
  • Ability to apply Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve control system, instrumentation, and electrical faults in a systematic and timely manner.
  • Exposure to Robotics or robotic automation, or willingness to develop skills in robotic integration within industrial environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Control, or related Engineering field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with engineering and automation tools (e.g., PLC programming software, SCADA/HMI platforms, industrial communication protocols).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and interact professionally with clients.
  • Willingness to work on-site at industrial facilities, including occasional travel for installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
