Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in Penang. The Business Development Manager will identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities, build a strong pipeline, and manage the end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting to contract closure. The role includes conducting market research, analyzing client needs, preparing proposals and presentations, and collaborating with operational teams to design tailored food and facilities management solutions. The individual will maintain and grow relationships with key decision-makers, attend client meetings and industry events, and ensure that business development activities align with Sodexo’s strategic and responsible growth objectives. The role also involves tracking performance metrics, forecasting revenue, and providing regular reports and insights to leadership.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in food services, hospitality, or related service industries.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and client communication, with the ability to influence and negotiate with decision-makers at multiple levels.
  • Ability to conduct market research, assess commercial opportunities, and translate client needs into compelling value propositions and proposals.
  • Proficiency in preparing professional sales presentations, bids, and contracts, and working closely with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, legal) to shape solutions.
  • Solid analytical and financial acumen, including experience with pricing, budgeting, pipeline management, and sales forecasting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently on-site in the northern region (Penang, Perak, Kedah) and manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
  • Comfort with CRM tools, MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel)
