Job Description:

Facilities & Maintenance Management

1) Oversee the daily upkeep, repairs, and maintenance of hostel buildings, rooms, common areas, and equipment.

2) Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and areas for improvement.

3) Coordinate and supervise repair work with in-house technicians and external contractors.

4) Manage inventory of furnishings, fixtures, and maintenance supplies.

5) Ensure 24/7 functionality of critical services (electricity, water, heating/cooling, WiFi).

Housekeeping & Cleanliness

1) Supervise the housekeeping team to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas.

2) Implement and monitor cleaning schedules and checklists.

3) Manage laundry facility operations and linen supply.

4) Enforce cleanliness policies in common kitchens, lounges, bathrooms, and outdoor areas.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

1) Ensure facility complies with all health, safety, and fire regulations.

2) Conduct regular fire drills and safety trainings for staff and residents.

3) Maintain first-aid supplies and emergency response protocols.

4) Keep accurate records of incidents, maintenance logs, and inspection reports.

Student Support & Communication:

1) Serve as a primary point of contact for students regarding facilities-related issues.

2) Address resident complaints or requests in a timely and professional manner.

3) Communicate policies and updates regarding facilities, maintenance schedules, or disruptions.

4) Foster a respectful and community-oriented living environment.

Administration & Reporting

Prepare monthly reports on maintenance activities, expenditures, and incident summaries.

Requirements

• Minimum diploma or relevant working experience in hospitality / hostel / operations

• Able to converse in Mandarin to communicate effectively with our residents and their families

• Basic English communication skills

• Patient, service-oriented, and comfortable interacting with elderly guests

• Willing to work weekends or shifts when required
