AWS Cloud Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on, highly proactive AWS Cloud Engineer to build and own cloud operations for a fast-growing FinTech Blockchain company in Singapore. This is a hybrid role offering the opportunity to shape and scale cloud infrastructure and operational practices from the ground up in a high-growth, fast-moving environment.
This is a high-impact, roll-up-your-sleeves role where you will support production systems and internal users while working closely with engineering teams across cloud infrastructure, application reliability, and platform operations.
You will be responsible for helping establish scalable AWS operational frameworks, improving system reliability, and ensuring uptime, security, access management, and performance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Cloud & Infrastructure Operations
- Support and evolve AWS-based cloud infrastructure, including monitoring, logging, and operational tooling
- Work closely with engineering teams supporting production workloads running in AWS
- Assist in managing containerised environments using Kubernetes / Amazon EKS
- Support cloud monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows across AWS services
- Assist with AWS IAM administration, access control governance, and cost optimisation initiatives
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure operational readiness, scalability, and reliability of cloud services
Application & Platform Support
- Provide operational support across internal systems and production applications hosted in AWS
- Work with backend services built in Java within cloud-hosted environments
- Support troubleshooting across application, infrastructure, and database layers in cloud environments
- Work with PostgreSQL for operational monitoring, performance support, and reliability tuning
Cloud Operations & User Support
- Act as a first-line support point for internal users (access, SaaS tools, endpoint issues, communication platforms)
- Own onboarding and offboarding processes including AWS access provisioning and de-provisioning
- Maintain asset and cloud resource inventory, including endpoint and infrastructure lifecycle management
- Develop documentation, SOPs, and cloud operational runbooks/self-service knowledge bases
Process Improvement & Automation
- Help design and improve cloud operations workflows and incident management processes
- Contribute to automation and scripting initiatives within AWS and supporting tooling
- Continuously improve cloud operational maturity, reliability, and scalability in a growing environment
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in Cloud Operations, AWS Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, or Systems Support roles
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (e.g. EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, S3, ECS/EKS preferred)
- Exposure to Java-based systems or backend application support in production environments
- Experience working with Kubernetes / Amazon EKS environments
- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases in production use
- Experience supporting internal users and production cloud systems
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management tools (e.g. CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus)
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or regulated environments is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin (mandatory)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving cloud-first environment
