Job Description

Responsibilities

Position Overview: The Transaction Associate will join a team of five other legal professionals which oversees all legal aspects of a Southeast Asian aviation group’s operations, transactions, and compliance efforts. This role requires a proven transaction lawyer who is commercially minded and can manage and drive leasing and other transactions from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and take ownership of a range of transactions, including aircraft leasing and financing transactions

• Provide legal advice on a broad range of corporate, compliance and/or other matters, including commercial contracts, NDAs and procurement/maintenance agreements

• Draft, review and/or negotiate transaction documents, where appropriate, under the supervision

• Draft, review and/or negotiate ancillary documents and corporate authorisations

• Manage conditions precedent and conditions subsequent, including the signing process, with the assistance of paralegals

• Liaise with local counsel, transaction counsel, counterparties and other service providers, including negotiating and managing fees and invoices

• Liaise with internal stakeholders (including management, commercial, finance/accounts and operational/technical) in connection with transactions and/or contract management to ensure efficient deal execution and compliance with internal policies and applicable laws

• Complete and/or review lease review checklists and provide management with advice in connection with the same

• Train and develop paralegals to ensure efficiency, professional growth and high performance

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in law, or other relevant legal qualification, from a common law jurisdiction

Professional Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, preferably in finance, corporate and/or commercial areas of practice

• Experience in the aviation industry advantageous but not required
