Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and delivery schedules are achieved. The role involves supervising production staff, coordinating resources, monitoring productivity, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet output and delivery requirements.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Optimize manpower allocation and machine utilization to maximize efficiency.
- Ensure production processes comply with established procedures and work instructions.
- Minimize downtime by coordinating with Maintenance and Engineering teams.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop production operators and technicians.
- Conduct daily production briefings and shift handovers.
- Monitor employee attendance, discipline, and performance.
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to production staff.
- Promote teamwork and a positive working environment.
Quality Control
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Work closely with the Quality Department to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production defects, scrap rates, and rework activities.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Conduct workplace safety inspections and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Investigate production incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain compliance with ISO, customer, and regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other improvement programs.
- Monitor key production KPIs and implement action plans for performance improvement.
- Participate in process optimization and capacity improvement projects.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Track production output, downtime, rejection rates, and labor efficiency.
- Communicate production performance and issues to management.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing or production operations.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, or contract manufacturing is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of production planning and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
