Job Summary
The CAD Engineer is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining 2D and 3D engineering designs, technical drawings, and product documentation to support product development, manufacturing, and customer projects. The role collaborates closely with R&D, production, quality, and project teams to ensure designs meet technical, functional, manufacturability, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for products, assemblies, tooling, fixtures, and production equipment.
- Convert conceptual ideas and engineering requirements into manufacturable designs.
- Prepare engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), assembly instructions, and technical documentation.
- Perform design modifications and revisions based on project requirements and feedback.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
Engineering Support
- Work closely with R&D and engineering teams during product development stages.
- Assist in prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
- Support engineering change requests (ECR) and engineering change orders (ECO).
- Conduct design reviews and provide recommendations for improvement.
Manufacturing & Production Support
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure design manufacturability and assembly efficiency.
- Resolve design-related issues encountered during manufacturing processes.
- Develop jigs, fixtures, and tooling designs to improve production efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product and process optimization.
Documentation & Data Management
- Maintain accurate design records, revision histories, and engineering databases.
- Manage CAD files and technical documents according to company document control procedures.
- Ensure all drawings and documents are properly released and archived.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to design issues.
- Support quality audits and customer technical reviews when required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, project managers, and internal departments on technical matters.
- Provide technical support during customer meetings, project discussions, and product presentations.
- Assist in feasibility studies, cost reduction initiatives, and value engineering activities.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience in CAD design, product development, or manufacturing engineering.
- Fresh graduates with strong CAD skills may be considered for junior positions.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, CATIA, Fusion 360, or similar.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, and assembly.
- Ability to generate BOMs and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with simulation and design analysis tools is an advantage.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
