Role Description This full-time, on-site Technician role is based at Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Jalil in Greater Kuala Lumpur. The Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on hotel facilities, guest rooms, and back-of-house equipment to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-functioning environment. Daily tasks include responding to maintenance requests, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC issues, and supporting preventive maintenance schedules. The role involves coordinating with other departments to minimize guest disruption, maintaining accurate records of work performed, and ensuring all tasks comply with safety and brand standards. The Technician also assists with set-up and technical support for hotel events, and participates in emergency response procedures as required.
Qualifications
- Technical skills in basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, perform preventive maintenance, and carry out minor repairs efficiently.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, use of tools and equipment, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple maintenance tasks and respond promptly to guest and operational needs.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with Front Office, Housekeeping, and other hotel departments.
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance, engineering, or a similar technician role in hospitality or commercial buildings is preferred.
- Relevant technical certification, diploma, or vocational training in engineering, building services, or a related field is an advantage.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as needed, and to perform physically active tasks safely.
