Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQA) is responsible for driving supplier qualifications, supplier quality performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role ensures that suppliers meet quality standards throughout New Product Introduction (NPI) and mass production, while supporting overall supplier governance and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities


1 Supplier Qualification

  • Lead supplier qualification activities through structured audit processes, including checklist development, audit execution, reporting, and follow-up on action plans
  • Develop and maintain inspection procedures, work instructions, control plans, and other quality documentation
  • Ensure compliance with documented quality requirements across suppliers
  • Manage First Article Inspection (FAI) and periodic quality reporting for new and modified components
  • Improve data collection, analysis, and reporting systems for supplier quality performance
  • Control component quality during NPI and production to meet customer specifications


2 Supplier Quality Management

  • Drive resolution of supplier quality issues, including root cause analysis and 8D closure
  • Monitor and follow up on supplier corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Maintain and continuously update Supplier Quality Improvement Plans
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders on continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Conduct supplier audits and evaluate supplier performance
  • Develop and maintain supplier KPI scorecards and regular performance reports
  • Support supplier rating systems and provide recommendations, including supplier business warnings when necessary


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, or Process Engineering within a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, RCA, FAI, control plans)
  • Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment
  • Proactive, results-driven, and strong problem-solving mindset
  • Good decision-making capability
