Role Description The Security Operation Centre (SOC) Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Kuala Lumpur. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day SOC operations, including introducing of security events monitoring process, leading the entire incident detection and response team, and ensuring timely escalation and resolution of security issues. The SOC Manager will lead and mentor the SOC team, define operational procedures, allocate workloads, and manage shift schedules to maintain continuous security coverage. The role includes collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, such as IT, network, and management teams, to improve security posture and reporting. The SOC Manager will also review security tools and technologies, analyze trends, generate performance and incident reports, and recommend enhancements to policies, processes, and controls.


Qualifications

  • At least 8 years and above experience on Security Operations Management skills, including team leadership, process development, and performance monitoring within a SOC or similar environment.
  • Experience with Physical Security considerations as they relate to information security operations and critical infrastructure protection.
  • Proficient in Cybersecurity best practices, including threat detection, incident response, and security monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience on SOC Operation Management, including daily management of SOC operation, define and enforcement of SOC process, workflows & escalation procedures.
  • Be able to own entire Incident Response Leadership including coordination on containment, eradication, and recovery activities. Acting as Incident Commander during critical cyber incidents and ensuring proper incident documentation and post-mortem reviews.
  • Be able to handle escalation, conduct necessary business review, must possess a good presentation skill that can deliver business outcomes to customer.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+) are advantageous.
  • Certification such as Crowdstrike in MSSP context is a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions during security incidents.
  • Be able to drive security technology roadmap, evaluating security tools/offerings in the market, oversee integration between tools and optimization of tool.
  • Be able to handle recruitment, training & mentoring SOC analyst.
  • Be able to manage performance review of SOC analyst, developing analyst career plan and manages shift schedule and resources allocation.
  • Must have deep knowledge in SIEM, Security Concepts & Infrastructure Knowledge.
