The Difference You Will Make As a Retail Assistant, you will be the frontline ambassador for Lee’s, providing warm and attentive customer service, keeping the outlet well-stocked and visually appealing, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting smooth daily operations. Whether assisting at the counter, handling stock, or preparing fresh cuts, your hands-on contribution will directly enhance customer satisfaction and help drive outlet performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service by greeting customers, addressing queries, handling complaints professionally, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Actively promote products, seasonal items, and ongoing promotions to encourage purchases and increase sales
• Assist in inventory management — monitor stock levels, place orders when needed, receive deliveries, and conduct regular stock checks
• Maintain attractive and compliant product displays in freezers, chillers, and service areas according to the company’s planogram standards
• Regularly check and record temperatures of display freezers, chillers, storage units, and report any deviations immediately
• Replenish shelves and freezers proactively to ensure products are always available and presented neatly
• Report any equipment defects, malfunctions (e.g., freezer/chiller breakdowns), or lost utensils promptly for urgent attention
• For Butcher roles: Cut, slice, and trim meat products according to Lee’s retail standard cuts and quality guidelines
• For Cashier roles: Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments accurately; assist customers during checkout; perform daily bill checks; manage cash float, ensure sufficient small change, and maintain accurate records while being accountable for any discrepancies
• Keep the outlet clean, safe, hygienic, and organized at all times in compliance with company procedures, food safety rules, and regulations
• Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors to support overall outlet success

Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in retail, supermarket, frozen food, or customer-facing roles (fresh graduates will not be considered)
• Honest, responsible, hardworking, and with a positive, customer-oriented attitude
• Willing to work in Bayan Lepas
• Able to work on weekends, public holidays, and overtime as required
• Preferably able to start work immediately or within short notice
• Good command of Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written); English and/or Mandarin is an added advantage

Added Advantages

• Previous experience in food retail, butchery, meat preparation, or frozen/chilled goods handling
• Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and temperature monitoring in retail settings
• Cashier experience with POS systems and daily cash reconciliation
• Familiarity with stock replenishment, planogram compliance, or visual merchandising in a retail environment

Job Type: Contract

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM1,900.00 per month
