Job Description

Responsibilities

The Senior Product Development Manager is responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of multi-category product portfolios across Home, Fashion, and Fragrance. This role ensures delivery of innovative, high-quality, and commercially viable products aligned with global brand standards and regional market requirements.


Working cross-functionally with design, sourcing, merchandising, marketing, and operations teams, the role balances creativity with strategic execution to deliver products that are trend-relevant, cost-effective, and aligned with brand DNA.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy Product Leadership

  • Define and execute seasonal and long-term product development strategies aligned with corporate objectives and brand positioning.
  • Translate global business goals into actionable product roadmaps and seasonal development plans.
  • Identify market trends, consumer insights, and competitive benchmarks to inform product direction and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with creative and design teams to translate concepts into commercially viable products.
  • Lead innovation in materials, finishes, packaging, and sustainability initiatives while balancing risk, cost, and speed-to-market.


End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the full product lifecycle from ideation, sampling, testing, costing, and production through to launch.
  • Develop detailed product briefs including specifications, quality standards, target pricing, and timelines.
  • Ensure adherence to global compliance, regulatory standards, and corporate governance policies whilst maintaining brand positioning, aesthetic direction, and quality expectations.
  • Oversee fragrance development in collaboration with external fragrance houses and suppliers.


Commercial & Financial Management

  • Partner with merchandising and finance teams to ensure margin targets are achieved.
  • Analyse sell-through data, performance metrics, and product productivity and recommend range optimisations.
  • Monitor development budgets and cost structures to maintain profitability.
  • Balance creativity with commercial discipline.


Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop strategic partnerships with global suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Lead commercial negotiations on cost, MOQ, and lead times.
  • Ensure supplier performance through structured evaluation and governance processes.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, supply chain, and quality teams across regions.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as key interface between Design, Merchandising, Marketing, Logistics, and Retail.
  • Ensure alignment between product development milestones and go-to-market calendars.
  • Support go-to-market strategy including storytelling, claims validation, packaging alignment, and launch readiness.
  • Present product concepts and performance insights to senior management.


Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor product development team members.
  • Foster a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture.
  • Drive succession planning and capability development within the team.


Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all products meet safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements across markets.
  • Implement rigorous quality control processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in materials, construction, and fragrance stability.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Product Development, Textile/Fashion Design, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8-12 years of progressive experience in product development with Home, Fashion, Beauty, or Fragrance industries.
  • Strong understanding of textiles, materials, fragrance development processes, and packaging.
  • Proven track record managing multi-category product portfolios.
  • Experience managing external fragrance houses and regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Experience working with international suppliers and production timelines.
  • Strong project management and organisational capabilities.
  • High commercial acumen with the ability to interpret sales and margin data.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in product development tools and systems (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, Adobe Illustrator, etc.).
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel both locally and internationally as business needs require.
