About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our IT Security team. This role offers exposure to both Managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) services and Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Testing (VAPT), providing a well rounded opportunity to develop expertise across multiple cybersecurity disciplines.

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in identifying, analysing, and responding to cyber threats while helping clients strengthen their security posture through proactive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities.

This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cybersecurity, enjoy problem solving, and are eager to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous learning and professional development are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security events and alerts across client environments to identify potential threats and suspicious activities.
  • Analyse and correlate security data from multiple sources to distinguish genuine threats from false positives.
  • Prioritise and escalate security alerts for further investigation and remediation.
  • Conduct detailed threat analysis and research to support incident investigations and resolution.
  • Respond to security incidents, system compromises, and network breaches in accordance with established procedures.
  • Contribute to change management processes to ensure security considerations are incorporated into infrastructure changes.
  • Conduct security assessments using a combination of commercial and open source security tools.
  • Perform penetration testing activities to identify exploitable vulnerabilities and security weaknesses.
  • Prepare comprehensive assessment reports detailing findings, risks, and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Cyber Security, or relevant experience.
  • Good understanding of network security, operating systems, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Experience working with Windows, Linux, Unix, networking technologies, firewalls, and security solutions.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex security issues.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English & Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with relevant work experience are welcome to apply.
  • Candidates should be Malaysian Citizens.
