Position Summary

The Data Centre Project Engineer is the technical support for data centre construction, expansion and upgrades. Working closely with the Project Director, design consultants, and site contractors, you ensure engineering drawings and technical documentation—covering electrical connections, cooling loops and structural grids—are accurately translated into safe, buildable and operating-ready infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Drawing & Document Control

• Review CSA and MEP layouts for constructability and clash detection

• Coordinate RFIs and manage submittals with subcontractors, consultants and clients

• Maintain and update as-built drawings and BIM models to reflect site changes

Site Engineering Oversight

• Perform QA/QC site inspections to confirm compliance with data centre standards and vendor requirements

• Manage interfaces between trades (e.g. coordinating structural ceiling grids before installing busways and cable trays)

• Verify installation of mission-critical equipment, including anchoring, load distribution and seismic bracing

Commissioning Support (Levels 1–5)

• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for equipment such as generators, chillers and UPS systems

• Assist with Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and component verification (Level 1–3)

• Support Functional & Integrated Systems Testing (FST/IST) including data logging and thermal/load testing (Level 4–5)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or Civil Engineering

• Typically 2–5 years of engineering experience, preferably in data centres, critical infrastructure, power sub-stations, or industrial processing plants

• Strong hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), Navisworks, and project management tools (e.g. Procore / Aconex)

• REW Grade B or Licensed Plumber is advantageous

• Proficient in Microsoft Project/Word/Excel/PowerPoint

• Strong command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Putonghua

• Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Assistant Engineer position.
