Role Description This is a full-time, on-site University Lecturer role based at UTM’s Kuala Lumpur City campus. The Lecturer will deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and laboratory or workshop sessions, using current and inclusive teaching methods aligned with program outcomes. Daily responsibilities include preparing course materials, designing assessments, grading assignments and examinations, and providing constructive feedback to students. The role involves supervising undergraduate and postgraduate projects, participating in research and scholarly activities, and contributing to curriculum development in collaboration with academic colleagues. The Lecturer will also engage in academic advising, support student development, and participate in departmental, faculty, and university-level initiatives, committees, and community engagement activities.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background with at least a Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant discipline, with evidence of subject-matter expertise and scholarly engagement.
- Demonstrated teaching skills in higher education, including course design, lesson planning, classroom management, and student-centered learning approaches.
- Proven ability to conduct research, publish in reputable journals, and contribute to grant applications and collaborative research projects.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and support diverse learners.
- Competence in using digital tools and learning management systems (e.g., online teaching platforms, digital assessment tools, multimedia resources) to enhance teaching and learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including the capacity to manage teaching, research, and service responsibilities effectively.
- Experience in industry collaboration, curriculum innovation, or interdisciplinary work is an advantage.
