About the role

NEWNORMZ SDN. BHD. is seeking a talented and dedicated WordPress Website Technical Specialist to join our dynamic team in Kuala Lumpur (Menara MBMR, Midvalley Area). This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring our WordPress websites operate at peak performance, maintain optimal security, and deliver an exceptional user experience. You will be at the forefront of our web technology operations, managing the technical infrastructure that supports our digital presence and contributing directly to the success of our online platforms.

What you'll be doing

As a WordPress Website Technical Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Managing and maintaining WordPress websites, ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and security

2. Troubleshooting technical issues and resolving bugs, including debugging and fixing code problems

3. Installing, configuring, and updating WordPress plugins and themes to enhance functionality

4. Implementing and managing security measures, including SSL certificates, firewalls, and regular security audits

5. Performing routine backups and disaster recovery procedures to protect website data

6. Optimising website speed and performance through caching, image optimisation, and database management

7. Collaborating with web designers and developers to integrate custom functionality and design elements

8. Monitoring website analytics and providing recommendations for improvements

9. Managing hosting environments and server configurations to ensure reliable operations

10. Documenting technical processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures for team reference

11. Staying current with WordPress updates, security patches, and industry best practices

12. Providing technical support to content managers and other team members using WordPress

What we're looking for

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

1. Proven experience of at least 3-5 years working with WordPress, including site maintenance and technical management

2. Strong knowledge of WordPress architecture, database structure, and core functionality

3. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and PHP, with the ability to troubleshoot and modify code

4. Experience with WordPress security best practices, including SSL implementation and security plugins

5. Familiarity with web hosting environments, server management, and FTP/SFTP

6. Knowledge of website performance optimisation techniques and tools

7. Understanding of web standards, accessibility requirements, and SEO fundamentals

8. Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions

9. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically and document solutions clearly

10. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with designers and developers

11. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail

12. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git is a plus

13. Experience with development and staging environments is advantageous

14. Knowledge of performance monitoring tools and analytics is desirable
