Finance Manager/ Assistant Manager (Financial Reporting)
About the company
This is a global company, looking for an experienced finance professionals to join their team as a Finance Assistant Manager. With a vision to expand across regionally, they are expanding their finance team and looking for a fresh blood to join their team.
About the Role
The Finance Manager Asia is a key member of the regional Finance team, based in Malaysia and responsible for financial management across multiple Asian markets. The role combines solid operational finance with a strong international mindset, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and financial control across the region while actively engaging with global Finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Controlling
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across all Asian entities in line with group deadlines
• Prepare and review regional financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting into the group consolidation system
• Monitor financial KPIs, identify deviations, and provide actionable insights to regional and global management
• Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and multi-year financial plans for the Asia region
2. SAP & Finance Systems
• Act as the regional SAP key user and first point of contact for SAP FI/CO matters across Asian entities
• Drive local implementation, configuration, and optimization of SAP processes in close collaboration with global IT and Finance teams
• Support SAP rollouts and system migrations within the region, ensuring data quality and process compliance
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline finance processes using SAP and complementary digital tools
• Train and support local finance staff in SAP usage and best practices
3. Compliance, Tax & Treasury
• Ensure compliance with local statutory reporting, tax regulations, and audit requirements across all covered Asian markets
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities in each country
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes in the region
• Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany reconciliation processes
4. International Collaboration & Finance Community
• Represent the Asia region in global working groups, and cross-functional projects
• Implement global Finance policies and standards locally, adapting where necessary to meet regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with global Finance colleagues on topics such as process harmonization, system rollouts, and reporting standards
• Share regional insights and best practices with the broader Finance community to support continuous improvement
• Partner closely with HR, Legal, and Operations colleagues across the region on cross-functional topics
What You'll Need
Minimum 3-4 years experience in Finance
Open to consider someone fresh out of Audit
Degree in Accountancy or Finance
Can do attitude with great communication skills
Exposure in financial reporting
