Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The Business Development Manager will identify and qualify new business opportunities in solar and BESS, build and manage a strong pipeline, and drive the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract closure. The role involves meeting with commercial, industrial, and utility clients, understanding their energy needs, and proposing tailored technical and commercial solutions in collaboration with internal engineering and finance teams. The Business Development Manager will prepare proposals, presentations, and financial models, negotiate terms, and support the execution of partnership and investment structures. The role also includes monitoring market and policy developments, attending industry events, and providing feedback to internal stakeholders to refine offerings and go-to-market strategies.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in renewable energy, cleantech, or related infrastructure sectors.
- Strong skills in client prospecting, relationship building, opportunity qualification, and pipeline management.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts related to solar PV, BESS, and energy solutions in a clear, business-oriented manner.
- Competence in financial analysis, proposal development, and basic project economics (e.g., ROI, payback period, project financing structures).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
- Organized and self-driven, with strong time management, follow-through, and documentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Environmental Science, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
- Familiarity with Malaysian renewable energy policies, solar adoption programs, and corporate sustainability goals is highly beneficial.
