Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technology Architect to lead the modernization of our mainframe applications and infrastructure. This role is pivotal in designing, planning, and executing transformation strategies that align systems with modern cloud-native architectures and business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Strategy
Design and implement scalable modernization strategies for mainframe applications.
Develop technical blueprints and architectural frameworks for cloud transitions.
Evaluate modernization options: rehost, re-platform, refactor, rewrite, or retire.
Technical Leadership
Provide strategic direction and technical oversight across modernization projects.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including cloud architects, business analysts, and SMEs.
Lead technical assessments and roadmap development for application migration.
Integration & Optimization
Ensure seamless integration of modernized systems with existing enterprise platforms.
Optimize performance, security, and reliability of transformed workloads.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with SLAs and governance standards.
Documentation & Communication
Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture decisions, processes, and procedures.
Present modernization strategies and progress to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in mainframe systems (MVS/z/OS) and modernization projects.
Proven expertise in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, and scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M).
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.
Experience with Inventory Analysis Tool and modernization frameworks.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Familiarity with banking or financial services domain is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of REXX, SAS, and encryption technologies (AT-TLS, KEYRINGs).
Experience in mentoring technical teams and managing cross-border delivery models.
Certifications in IBM System z, cloud architecture, or modernization tools.
