Role Description The IT Business Analyst – Insurance will work on-site in Greater Kuala Lumpur on a contract basis, acting as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams. In this role, the analyst will gather, analyze, and document business requirements for insurance-related systems and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory standards. Day-to-day tasks include mapping and improving business processes, facilitating workshops and requirement sessions, and translating business needs into functional specifications for development and testing teams. The role also involves supporting user acceptance testing, preparing documentation, and assisting with change management and training materials. The analyst will collaborate closely with underwriting, claims, policy administration, and other insurance functions to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and user-friendly.
Qualifications
  • Strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and evaluate complex insurance and IT issues.
  • Proven experience in Business Analysis, including requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to define, model, and optimize Business Processes within insurance operations (e.g., policy, claims, underwriting).
  • Understanding of Business Requirements translation into functional and technical specifications for IT teams.
  • Solid knowledge of Information Technology concepts, system architectures, and SDLC or Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in insurance domains such as life, general, or health insurance, with familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams on-site.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) are an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities in a project-driven environment, and adapt to evolving business needs.
