Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Establish clear work processes, SOPs, checklists and HR controls.
  • Manage overall manpower planning for production lines and shift operations.
  • Oversee recruitment for operators, technicians, executives and managerial positions.
  • Monitor attendance, absenteeism, shift arrangements, overtime and workforce requirements.
  • Review monthly payroll inputs, allowances, overtime and statutory contributions.
  • Handle employee relations, grievances, disciplinary cases, show-cause letters and domestic inquiries.
  • Advise management and department heads on employment matters and HR best practices.
  • Manage performance appraisal, probation confirmation, employee development and succession planning.
  • Coordinate employee training and maintain the training and competency matrix.
  • Manage foreign-worker documentation, accommodation and welfare matters, where applicable.
  • Support labour, customer, ISO, social-compliance and internal audits.
  • Ensure compliance with the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act and other applicable regulations.
  • Prepare monthly reports covering headcount, turnover, absenteeism, overtime cost, recruitment and HR performance.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Safety, Finance and other departments.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention and workplace improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • At least 5–10 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of HR experience within a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Experience supervising or coaching an HR team.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Malaysian employment and industrial-relations practices.
  • Hands-on experience in employee relations, disciplinary management, payroll review, manpower planning and recruitment.
  • Comfortable dealing with production employees, supervisors, HOD and top management.
  • Able to work independently and improve existing HR systems.
  • Strong communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
  • Experience managing foreign workers, union matters, hostel operations or social-compliance audits will be an advantage.
  • Candidates without manufacturing experience may not be considered.
