JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Function as 2IC to the Head of Laboratory Services (Senior Microbiologist), supporting overall laboratory operations and management.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain laboratory processes, procedures, and storage conditions in compliance with required standards.
• Supervise, guide, and train junior microbiologists, ensuring proper execution of lab testing activities and adherence to SOPs.
• Perform Sterility Testing and Bioburden Testing, ensuring accurate results and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct Ethylene Oxide (EO) Residual Testing (added advantage if experienced).
• Develop, implement, and maintain ISO 17025:2017 laboratory quality system to achieve and sustain laboratory accreditation.
• Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and procedures for Interlaboratory (Interlab) Studies.
• Participate in EO Sterilization service operations, including recipe development during product validation testing.
• Support continuous improvement of laboratory systems, documentation, and quality processes.
• Engage in client-facing discussions and technical meetings, with progression toward representing the laboratory externally.
• Work towards becoming the Authorized Signatory for laboratory reports and results
• Eventually take up leadership responsibilities as Head of Laboratory Services.

JOB ReQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Microbiology laboratory environment.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological testing methods, including Sterility and Bioburden testing.
• Familiarity with ISO 17025:2017 standards and laboratory accreditation processes.
• Experience in SOP development and laboratory documentation control.
• Ability to supervise and train junior laboratory staff effectively.
• Strong understanding of laboratory quality systems, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Good communication skills for internal coordination and client engagement.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and progress into leadership and client-facing responsibilities.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
