Job Purpose

The LCL Planner is responsible for planning, optimizing, and executing Less-than-Container-Load (LCL) consolidations to ensure maximum container utilization, cost efficiency, and service reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and optimize LCL consolidations for 20’, 40’, and 40’ HC containers
• Analyze cargo dimensions, weight, stackability, and special handling requirements
• Maximize space utilization while ensuring cargo safety and compliance
• Coordinate with Customer Service, Operations, Warehouse, and Transport teams
• Coordinate with PEN & JHB station Customer Service, Operations on weekly consol planning + advance booking with carriers to secure the space.
• Ensure consolidation plans align with vessel schedules and cut-off times
• Provide clear loading instructions to warehouse teams
• Maintain accurate planning data in TMS / operational systems
• Support customers and internal stakeholders with load feasibility checks
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, ISO standards, and quality requirements
• Need to plan & manage BCN (Buyer’s consol box) for some customer as per business requirement.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of LCL ocean freight operations
• Understanding of container dimensions and stowage principles
• Analytical and planning skills
• Strong communication and coordination abilities
• Experience with TMS / CW1 or similar systems
