We are supporting an innovative maritime solutions provider in the search for a Technical Commercial Manager to join their growing APAC team.

This opportunity is ideal for a Marine Engineer, Chief Engineer, Technical Superintendent, or other technically focused maritime professional looking to leverage their expertise in a customer-facing commercial role.

Previous sales experience is not essential – the client is seeking someone with strong technical credibility who can engage confidently with customers and provide practical, solution-based advice.

The Role

Working closely with customers across the APAC region, you will act as the technical expert throughout the sales process, helping clients understand how the company’s products and solutions can support their operational needs. You will also attend vessels, provide technical guidance, monitor product performance, and build long-term customer relationships.

This is a varied position combining technical knowledge, problem-solving, and commercial interaction, with the opportunity to play a key role in business development without needing a traditional sales background.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit vessels and customer sites to provide technical support and product guidance.
• Engage with shipowners, operators, and technical teams to understand their operational challenges and recommend suitable solutions.
• Support the sales process by providing technical expertise and credibility during customer discussions.
• Monitor product performance and provide feedback to internal teams and clients.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers across the region.
• Represent the business professionally at meetings, presentations, and industry events where required.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the maritime industry.
• Strong technical background, ideally in Marine Engineering, Technical Management, or a related discipline.
• Excellent understanding of marine engines and onboard machinery.
• Seagoing experience as a Marine Engineer or experience in a shore-based technical role such as Technical Superintendent is highly desirable.
• Comfortable engaging with customers and explaining technical concepts in a clear and practical way.
• Interested in developing or expanding into a commercially focused role.
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently.

Desirable

• Knowledge of marine fuels, fuel additives, or fuel-related technologies.
• Experience working with OEMs, equipment suppliers, or technical service providers.
