Job Purpose
The LCL Planner is responsible for planning, optimizing, and executing Less-than-Container-Load (LCL) consolidations to ensure maximum container utilization, cost efficiency, and service reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and optimize LCL consolidations for 20’, 40’, and 40’ HC containers
- Analyze cargo dimensions, weight, stackability, and special handling requirements
- Maximize space utilization while ensuring cargo safety and compliance
- Coordinate with Customer Service, Operations, Warehouse, and Transport teams
- Coordinate with PEN & JHB station Customer Service, Operations on weekly consol planning + advance booking with carriers to secure the space.
- Ensure consolidation plans align with vessel schedules and cut-off times
- Provide clear loading instructions to warehouse teams
- Maintain accurate planning data in TMS / operational systems
- Support customers and internal stakeholders with load feasibility checks
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, ISO standards, and quality requirements
- Need to plan & manage BCN (Buyer’s consol box) for some customer as per business requirement.

- Strong knowledge of LCL ocean freight operations
- Understanding of container dimensions and stowage principles

- Strong communication and coordination abilities
- Experience with TMS / CW1 or similar systems
