Job Purpose

Lead and drive the planning, development and implementation of Petrosains’ digital and AI solutions to support the organisation’s digital transformation and innovation agenda, driving the design, build, and deployment of scalable applications and AI capabilities that enhance visitor platforms, operational efficiency, and measurable business value. This includes the overarching accountability for technical governance, ensuring all digital products and AI models are developed with a commitment to security-by-design, ethical integrity, and alignment with enterprise-wide AI architecture to safeguard Petrosains' digital assets and reputation.

Role Description

1) Digital & AI Strategy Development - Lead the end-to-end development and continuous iteration of Petrosains’ digital and AI strategy in alignment with the Petrosains AI Adoption Framework. Proactively identify and pilot emerging technology opportunities, including GenAI, Computer Vision, and IoT, to strengthen visitor engagement, optimize workforce productivity, and secure sustainable value creation.

2) Digital Transformation Delivery & Portfolio Management

Translate approved strategies into actionable roadmaps and scalable delivery plans. Govern the digital and AI initiative portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic priorities while proactively managing resource capacity and complex interdependencies across the organization. 

3) Digital & AI Solution Engineering

Lead the full-lifecycle design, development, and operationalization of advanced digital applications and AI-driven solutions. Convert intricate business requirements into robust, scalable, and user-centric systems across visitor-facing, operational, and productivity platforms while maintaining technical excellence and cross-functional synergy to maximize the impact of digital assets.

4) AI Use Case Delivery & Lifecycle Management

Drive prioritization, prototyping, and scaling of high-impact AI use cases, specifically focusing on Generative AI and Agentic workflows. Oversee the full lifecycle of AI solutions while ensuring responsible AI principles, ethical integrity, measurable organizational impact and full alignment with Petrosains’ broader innovation and digital transformation goals.

5) Application Architecture & Interoperability

Define and govern application-level architecture and integration approaches. Provide leadership across APIs, data flows, and platform interoperability to ensure seamless integration across Petrosains’ digital experience ecosystem, while excluding accountability for core infrastructure, networks, and cybersecurity operations.

6) Visitor-Facing Experience Enablement

Lead the technical enablement of digital and AI capabilities that power interactive exhibitions, immersive learning environments, and visitor platforms. Ensure solutions are intuitive, reliable, and strongly aligned with Petrosains’ storytelling and educational intent.

7) Team Leadership, Vendor Management & Capability Building

Provide direction and capability development for the Digital & AI Engineering team. Manage technology vendors and external partners to ensure disciplined delivery, effective knowledge transfer, and the strengthening of internal technical fluency in AI.

8) Technical Governance & Value Realisation

Establish and enforce engineering standards, AI governance controls, and quality assurance practices. Monitor adoption, performance metrics, and benefits realisation to ensure all systems are reliable, auditable, and deliver measurable value to both the business and the visitor experience.

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.

·      Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in digital solution development, software engineering, or technology delivery roles, with at least 4–5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.

·      Relevant professional certifications in software engineering, cloud platforms, data or AI (e.g. Agile, Cloud, Data/AI-related certifications) are desirable.

·      Proven experience leading the end‑to‑end design, development, and deployment of digital platforms and applications, with exposure to AI‑enabled or data‑driven solutions across customer‑facing, operational, or enterprise environments.

·      Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple high-stake projects concurrently, showcasing exceptional organizational and strategic planning abilities. Experience leading, managing, and inspiring a team of experienced, creative, and talented professionals towards achieving collective and innovative goals.

·      Outstanding management and business skills, complemented by superior communication abilities. Proven expertise in navigating complex project landscapes, fostering team collaboration, and engaging with stakeholders at all levels to drive forward organizational objectives and technological innovations.
