The Democratic Action Party (DAP) is a Malaysian political party within the ruling Pakatan Harapan coalition, which formed government in 2018 in what many observers call the “New Malaysia” era. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Political Digital Content Creator based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The role involves planning, creating, and publishing digital content across social media platforms, websites, and other online channels to communicate DAP’s values, policies, and initiatives. The Political Digital Content Creator will research current issues, craft clear narratives, and develop engaging multimedia content such as posts, infographics, short videos, and campaign materials tailored for diverse audiences. The role includes monitoring digital trends and online conversations, analyzing content performance, and adjusting strategies to increase reach, engagement, and message clarity. Collaboration with communications, campaign, and policy teams is expected to ensure consistent messaging, timely responses, and alignment with party objectives and electoral campaigns.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in digital content creation, including copywriting for web and social media, basic graphic or video editing, and adapting messages for different online platforms.
  • Experience with social media management and digital campaigning, including planning content calendars, using analytics tools, and optimizing content based on performance data.
  • Strong research and political awareness, with the ability to understand complex policy issues and translate them into clear, accessible, and persuasive messages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia ; proficiency in English or additional Malaysian languages is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced political environment, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to democratic values, social justice, human rights, and multicultural inclusion aligned with DAP’s social democratic principles.
  • Relevant experience in political communication, journalism, marketing, public relations, or advocacy is preferred; a diploma or degree in communications, media, political science, or a related field is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Malaysian politics and electoral processes, and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during campaign periods.
