What You Will Do
At SPL, you are an integral part of our team - driving meaningful projects and witnessing the tangible difference your work makes. The Assistant Manager, Compliance is responsible for carrying out day-to-day compliance activities and designated regulatory compliance projects of some complexity, as well as contributing to the management of the organisation’s compliance risks. The role ensures adherence to applicable laws, regulatory frameworks, and internal compliance policies and standards, while enabling business objectives through effective compliance measures.
Key Tasks You Will Be Involved In
- Support in the implementation and administration of various regulatory regimes as directed by supervisor or the Compliance head, including MAS’ outsourcing guidelines, Fit and Proper framework, third party risks and operational risk management guidelines, and conducting related assessments, due diligence and risk reporting.
- Support the conducting of impact assessments, due diligence and compliance checks relating to personal data protection, as well as assist in the handling of any personal data breach.
- Perform timely review, analysis and resolution of transaction monitoring alerts flagged by the transaction monitoring system, analyze transaction data to identify suspicious or fraudulent activities, trends and patterns in transactions, and, where necessary, draft and lodge suspicious transaction reports to the relevant authority.
- Conduct KYC/AML/CFT processes, perform CDD checks (i.e., identification, verification and screening) on new customers, undertake periodic/trigger CDD reviews on existing customers, perform ongoing screening and prepare risk assessments on potential and actual customers that are flagged for adverse media or flagged as Political Exposed Persons (PEPs).
- Support anti-fraud and anti-scam operations, including transaction monitoring, alert handling, investigations, customer impact assessment, escalation, and timely remedial actions to limit losses and customer detriment.
- Support the annual PSA audit and the Compliance and Regulatory Returns workstreams, including following up with relevant stakeholders on agreed actions for audit recommendations.
- Provide support in other projects assigned by supervisor or Compliance head, including working with relevant stakeholders on training staff on PSA, PTC and PDPA requirements, and assisting with department administrative matters.

This role might be for you if you have:
- Training in Law, Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in compliance, risk management, audit, fraud or scam operations, law enforcement or regulatory functions.
- Professional compliance, fraud. risk, law enforcement, personal data or governance certification (e.g. CAMS, ICA, CRCM or equivalent) preferred.
- Knowledge of AML/CFT and customer due diligence (CDD) regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks, and related processes and issues.
- Knowledge and experience in Singapore’s Payment Services Act 2019 (PSA), Public Transport Council Act 1987 (PTC Act), Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA), fraud and scam risk management and related regulatory requirements preferred.
- Experience in developing policies, SOPs, and compliance risk assessments preferred.
- Ability to analyse operational processes and identify compliance gaps.
- Some familiarity with compliance onboarding, screening, monitoring (including transaction monitoring), reporting, and analytics processes and tools.
- Stakeholder management, communication, and advisory skills.
