Job Description

Responsibilities

Core Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Prepare design drawings, construction drawings, 3D/4D renderings, and other design deliverables in compliance with project requirements, rules, and regulations.
  • Prepare and support Material Take-Off (MTO) from design drawings, construction drawings, approved layouts, and project specifications.
  • Identify and quantify required materials, finishes, furniture, fittings, fixtures, accessories, and other interior fit-out items based on project drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure MTO details are accurate, complete, and aligned with the latest approved drawings and design revisions.
  • Coordinate with the Commercial, Procurement, Production, Engineering, and Site teams to clarify material requirements, quantities, specifications, and drawing discrepancies.
  • Support cost estimation, procurement planning, and project execution by providing accurate material quantity information and design-related inputs.
  • Update MTO records whenever there are drawing revisions, design changes, site changes, or client requirements.
  • Develop graphic design upon request.
  • Support and assist the Executive Designer in the development of the design.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, procurement, production, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure technical accuracy of drawings, specifications, MTO information, and design deliverables.
  • Contribute to the input of overall concepts for a new product or design proposal.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory bodies when required for design clarification, material selection, technical details, and project coordination.


Requirements & Qualifications



Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, or related discipline.



Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Designer / Drafter in the marine industry or landed project fit-out sector is preferred.
  • Experience in preparing construction drawings, interior fit-out detailing, material schedules, and Material Take-Off will be an advantage.


Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, Photoshop, or similar design software.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, construction drawings, material specifications, and technical details.
  • Basic knowledge of Material Take-Off preparation, quantity checking, material scheduling, and drawing revision control.
  • Strong understanding of architectural materials, installations, and fit-out processes. Marine-related knowledge will be an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy in drawings, quantities, and documentation.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication
