Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Engineer role based in Petaling Jaya. The Business Development Engineer will identify and develop new business opportunities, including prospecting, qualifying leads, and nurturing relationships with potential and existing clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing technical and commercial proposals, conducting product presentations and demonstrations, and collaborating with engineering and project teams to align solutions with client requirements. The role involves analyzing market trends, tracking competitors, and providing input on pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategies. The Business Development Engineer will also support contract negotiations, maintain accurate sales pipelines and reports, and participate in customer visits, site assessments, and industry events as needed.


Qualifications

  • Strong business development capabilities, including New Business Development and Business Development skills to drive growth in renewables and wastewater treatment markets.
  • Solid sales and customer relationship skills, including Sales experience in technical or industrial environments.
  • Effective Communication skills, with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly to diverse stakeholders and prepare persuasive proposals and presentations.
  • Robust Analytical Skills to assess market data, evaluate customer requirements, and develop competitive solutions and pricing strategies.
  • Minimum Diploma in Engineering or Business Management.
  • Experience in renewable energy, wastewater treatment, or related engineering solutions is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams, manage multiple opportunities, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally for client meetings, site visits, and industry events when required.
