Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Vulnerability Management Engineer with 5–8 years of experience in cybersecurity and vulnerability management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, prioritizing, and coordinating the remediation of security vulnerabilities across enterprise infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools, and a solid understanding of security best practices and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular vulnerability assessments and scans across servers, endpoints, network devices, applications, and cloud environments.
  • Analyze vulnerability scan results, validate findings, and assess risk impact to the organization.
  • Prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity, exploitability, business impact, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Track remediation progress and provide regular vulnerability management reports and metrics to stakeholders.
  • Manage and maintain vulnerability scanning tools such as Qualys, Tenable/Nessus, Rapid7, or similar platforms.
  • Conduct vulnerability verification and closure validation after remediation activities.
  • Support security audits, compliance assessments, and risk management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with security operations, incident response, and governance teams to improve overall security posture.
  • Develop and enhance vulnerability management processes, standards, and documentation.
  • Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in vulnerability management, cybersecurity operations, or information security.
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools such as Qualys, Nessus, Tenable, Rapid7, or similar solutions.
  • Strong understanding of vulnerability assessment methodologies and remediation processes.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, networking, cloud platforms, databases, and enterprise infrastructure security.
  • Experience in vulnerability reporting, risk analysis, and remediation tracking.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as CVSS, CIS, NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI-DSS.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud vulnerability management (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation using PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting.
  • Exposure to security operations and incident response processes.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications such as:
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
  • CISSP
  • GIAC Certifications
  • Tenable or Qualys certifications

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
