Job Responsibilities:
EHS Compliance & Management Systems
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the EHS Management System in compliance with ISO 14001, legal requirements, and corporate standards.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, DOSH regulations, BOMBA requirements, ICTI standards, and other applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
- Participate in internal and external audits, certification activities, and management system reviews.
- Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating EHS policies, procedures, and work instructions. Workplace Safety & Risk Management
- Conduct routine inspections of safety equipment, including eyewash stations, safety showers, fire extinguishers, hose reels, and other emergency response equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Coordinate machinery and equipment safety assessments, including collaboration with Certified Machinery Safety Experts to ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with company EHS requirements and Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures.
Emergency Response & Preparedness
- Coordinate Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities, including emergency evacuation drills and preparedness exercises.
- Organize and facilitate fire drills and emergency response exercises to ensure compliance with BOMBA, ICTI, and internal requirements.
- Conduct awareness programs and practical emergency response activities, including fire extinguishing, chemical spill response, and first aid exercises to maintain ERT competency.
Incident Management & Corrective Actions
- Lead or participate in incident, accident, and near-miss investigations using root cause analysis methodologies.
- Develop, track, and verify the effectiveness of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of incidents.
- Prepare incident reports and communicate findings, recommendations, and lessons learned to relevant stakeholders.
Training, Communication & Awareness
- Develop and deliver EHS communication materials, awareness campaigns, and training programs to promote a strong safety culture.
- Coordinate EHS-related meetings, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support the implementation of corporate EHS programs, campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare and submit EHS reports required by management and regulatory authorities.
- Analyze EHS performance data and recommend improvement opportunities to enhance safety performance and compliance.
- Support legal register reviews and implementation of actions arising from changes in applicable legislation and regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen EHS performance and operational effectiveness.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Registered Safety and Health Officer (Green Book Holder) will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, OSHA, DOSH regulations, BOMBA requirements, and ICTI standards is preferred.
- Knowledge of EHS management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience in risk assessment, hazard identification, and incident investigation techniques.
- Understanding of Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems and contractor safety management.
- Familiarity with emergency response planning and ERT management.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
