Job Summary
Assist the kitchen team in preparing and cooking food while maintaining cleanliness, food quality, and smooth kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking according to recipes.
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation are consistent.
- Keep the workstation clean and follow hygiene standards.
- Support Chef during busy service time.
- Check stock and inform superior when items are low.
- Reduce wastage of ingredients.
- Follow kitchen SOP and safety rules.
- Work as a team and follow instructions from superior.
Requirements:
- Culinary school is a plus, but experience in a kitchen is essential.
- Several years of experience, especially in a similar role or as a commis chef.
- Good at cooking and specialized in a specific area (like grilling or making sauces).
- Knows different cooking techniques and how to combine flavors. Understands the menu and can prepare dishes according to the recipes.
- Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Good attitude, discipline, and teamwork.
