Position Overview


We are seeking an accomplished, commercially astute, and transformational Group Financial Controller to lead the finance organization of one of the largest IT solutions, cloud, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure, and managed services providers in the Asia-Pacific region.


Operating across 17 countries with thousands of employees and a rapidly expanding international footprint, the organization is entering its next phase of growth through geographic expansion, strategic acquisitions, digital transformation, and increased participation in global technology ecosystems.


The Group Financial Controller will be a critical member of the finance leadership team, responsible for ensuring financial integrity, operational excellence, governance, compliance, and scalable finance infrastructure that supports a multi-billion-dollar enterprise.



Key Responsibilities


1. Group Financial Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and manage the Group Financial Control function across all operating entities.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial governance frameworks across all jurisdictions.
  • Serve as the principal custodian of financial integrity, reporting accuracy, and compliance.
  • Partner closely with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team on strategic financial matters.
  • Provide financial leadership to support the company's growth ambitions, including new market entries, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Ensure consistency of accounting policies, financial processes, and governance standards across all countries.
  • Drive best-in-class financial control standards across a complex multinational organization.
  • Support Board and Audit Committee reporting requirements.
  • Develop finance policies that align with international governance expectations and future global expansion requirements.


2. Group Consolidation & Financial Reporting

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidation process across 17 countries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of consolidated financial statements.
  • Manage reporting requirements under IFRS, US GAAP (where applicable), and local statutory accounting requirements.
  • Oversee intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, and complex consolidation adjustments.
  • Ensure integrity of financial data across ERP and reporting systems.
  • Develop and continuously improve group reporting packs for executive management and the Board.
  • Deliver insightful management reporting to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
  • Manage year-end reporting requirements and coordination with external auditors.
  • Drive reporting standardization and automation initiatives.


3. Financial Control & Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory, tax, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to strengthen financial controls and risk mitigation processes.
  • Monitor compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific financial obligations.
  • Establish financial control frameworks suitable for future public market readiness if applicable.
  • Drive continuous improvement of control effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Oversee compliance with internal audit recommendations and remediation programs.


4. Regional Finance Operations Oversight

  • Provide leadership and oversight to finance teams across all countries.
  • Ensure consistency and standardization of finance operations.
  • Monitor country-level financial performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Support local finance leaders in addressing business challenges and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and optimize finance operating models.
  • Enhance finance service delivery capabilities across the organization.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen finance business partnering capabilities across all operating entities.


5. Audit & Risk Management

  • Lead all external audit engagements across the Group.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, regulators, and financial advisors.
  • Manage audit planning, execution, and remediation activities.
  • Coordinate statutory audits across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Establish enterprise-wide financial risk management frameworks.
  • Monitor emerging financial, regulatory, and compliance risks.
  • Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and control deficiencies.
  • Present audit outcomes and recommendations to senior management and Board committees.


6. Treasury & Cash Management Oversight

  • Oversee Group treasury operations and liquidity management.
  • Ensure effective working capital management across all operating entities.
  • Monitor cash flow forecasting, funding requirements, and capital allocation.
  • Support banking relationship management across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Optimize cash utilization and financing structures.
  • Oversee foreign exchange risk management and hedging strategies where appropriate.
  • Ensure sufficient liquidity to support ongoing growth and expansion activities.
  • Evaluate funding structures to support acquisitions and strategic investments.


7. Tax Governance & Structuring

  • Provide oversight of Group tax governance and compliance.
  • Partner with internal and external advisors on tax planning and optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements across all jurisdictions.
  • Manage tax risks associated with international expansion.
  • Oversee corporate income tax, indirect taxes, withholding taxes, and cross-border transactions.
  • Support tax-efficient structures for acquisitions, investments, and business expansion.
  • Monitor global tax developments and regulatory changes impacting the organization.


8. Mergers, Acquisitions & Integration

  • Support due diligence activities for acquisitions and strategic investments.
  • Lead financial integration workstreams for acquired businesses.
  • Standardize accounting policies and reporting processes post-acquisition.
  • Evaluate financial control environments of acquisition targets.
  • Drive synergy realization through finance integration initiatives.
  • Ensure successful onboarding of newly acquired entities into Group reporting structures.
  • Support post-merger finance transformation and organizational integration activities.



Candidate Profile


Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • MBA or advanced postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.


Experience

  • Minimum 15–20 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
  • At least 8–10 years in senior financial controller, finance director, regional finance, or equivalent leadership positions.
  • Significant experience managing multinational operations across Asia Pacific.
  • Prior experience within IT Services, Technology Solutions, Systems Integration, Cloud Services, Managed Services, Telecommunications, Digital Transformation, Technology Distribution, or related industries.
  • Proven experience managing complex multi-country consolidations.
  • Strong track record leading large regional finance teams.
  • Experience supporting rapid growth, acquisitions, and international expansion.
  • Exposure to private equity-backed, publicly listed, or multinational corporate environments is highly advantageous.
  • Experience operating within organizations exceeding USD 1 billion in annual revenue is preferred.


Technical Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of IFRS and international accounting standards.
  • Advanced financial consolidation expertise.
  • Deep understanding of multinational tax structures and transfer pricing.
  • Strong treasury and cash management capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance.
  • Experience with multinational ERP and consolidation systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, Hyperion, OneStream, or equivalent platforms.
  • Advanced financial reporting, data analytics, and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success leading finance transformation and process optimization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of technology services business models and revenue recognition principles.
