Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Engineer role based in Melaka. The Engineer will support the design, integration, and optimization of semiconductor equipment and factory automation solutions, including Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS). Day-to-day responsibilities include performing system setup and testing, troubleshooting equipment and automation issues, and implementing improvements to enhance reliability, throughput, and safety. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements, preparing technical documentation, and providing on-site support during installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities. The Engineer will also assist in continuous improvement initiatives, data analysis, and root-cause investigations to ensure stable and efficient manufacturing operations.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in engineering principles related to semiconductor equipment, automation systems, or industrial manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with equipment installation, testing, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance in a high-tech or production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documentation (mechanical, electrical, or control schematics).
- Skills in data analysis, problem-solving, and root-cause investigation to improve system performance and reliability.
- Familiarity with factory automation, AMHS, PLCs, or related control systems is an advantage.
- Proficiency in basic engineering or technical software tools (e.g., CAD, data logging, or monitoring applications) is beneficial.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to work on-site in a cleanroom or manufacturing environment and manage tasks with attention to safety and quality standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or related Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies, and support occasional after-hours or weekend activities when required by project schedules.
