Hybrid with 3 days work from office - based in Bangsar South (highly accessible via LRT)
- Data-driven technology spin off from a leading aviation strategy, logistics, air cargo consultancy
- Build data driven SaaS tools that help airlines make informed commercial decisions from; routes, maintenance, demand planning, operations and forecast models
- Work with a niche market leaders, get international exposure & (optional) international travel
- Proven product-market fit and a profitable + self-sustaining business
Role and responsibilities
- A combination of data engineering + statistical analytics
- Design, develop and implement data pipelines that ingest and transform large volumes of data, and scalable data models that power the core platform
- Identify and study trends, perform ad-hoc analysis to generate insights that help clients navigate decision-making
Team structure & Culture
- Reporting to either Head of Data / Product / Customer Success while working alongside a lead/senior Data Engineers, other Product Analytics Engineers and Business Data Analysts based across KL/EU
- Entrepreneurial and ambitious team from Malaysia and Europe, which include ex management consultants
- The engineering hub in KL (15 staff) supports software development, data engineering and analytics
Must-have skills
- Proficiency in SQL and Python in data transformation, cleaning, preparation etc.
- Product-driven and strong analytical mindset with a passion for working with numbers and turning data into actionable insights > ability to define and solve ambiguous, open-ended business problems through exploratory and analytical approaches
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Pyspark / Databricks / AWS cloud infrastructure
- Background in consulting or a quantitative degree
- 100% individual contributor role
- 3+ years of hands-on data experience
- This role is NOT suitable for data analysts with experience of only building dashboards
