Role Description The Desktop Support Engineer will provide day-to-day technical support for end users’ desktops, laptops, and related hardware and software. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems and applications, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and escalating complex problems when necessary. The role involves responding to support tickets and walk-up requests, delivering clear and professional customer service, and documenting solutions and procedures. The Desktop Support Engineer will also assist with system updates, preventive maintenance, asset tracking, and adherence to security and compliance guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad.
Qualifications
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to identify, analyze, and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience providing technical support and desktop support in a professional environment.
  • Proficiency with common operating systems (such as Windows, macOS, and basic Linux) and standard office productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated customer support and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and patiently with users at all technical levels.
  • Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), printers, and peripheral device configuration.
  • Ability to manage priorities, handle multiple tickets simultaneously, and work effectively in a fast-paced on-site setting.
  • Relevant certification(s) such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent practical experience are preferred.
  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
