Job Description

Responsibilities

The maritime industry relies on seamless coordination to keep vessels seaworthy and commercially ready. As an integral member of our technical and procurement team, you will ensure our fleet maintains the highest standards of operational excellence and regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex maritime logistics while supporting large-scale technical projects like dry-docking and vessel handovers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate class and flag surveys to ensure vessel sea worthiness.
  • Prepare draft specifications for vessel modifications to meet statutory requirements.
  • Manage logistics and documentation for vessel flag changes and ownership transfers.
  • Identify and source approved contractors for the repair and service of offland items.
  • Support superintendents with dry-docking planning, budget compilation, and invoice closure.
  • Monitor the validity of all trading certificates and daily vessel correspondence.
  • Execute the full purchasing cycle including sourcing, price negotiation, and issuing purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure timely delivery of spares and stores to vessels worldwide.
  • Maintain accurate office records, including supply logs and vessel expense reports.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate competitive contract pricing and rebates.

Requirements

  • Minimum diploma qualification in ideally a relevant discipline.
  • At least one year of experience as a technical executive within the shipping industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in maritime purchasing and technical procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of technical, purchasing, and logistics processes.
  • Proficiency in basic IT applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Good communication skills in both spoken and written English.
  • A strong flair for numbers and financial accuracy.
