About the role

We are seeking an experienced SMT Engineer to join our dynamic manufacturing team at Ming Shang Technology in Kulai, Johor.
You will play a key role in setting up, stabilizing, and continuously improving our SMT production. This role goes beyond routine engineering work and requires a hands-on, flexible mindset typical for a startup environment.
This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality production of our electronics products.

What you'll be doing

• Setup, optimization, and maintenance of SMT production processes
• Programming, setup, and optimization of SMT machines (Pick & Place, Solder Printer, Reflow)
• Process optimization for quality, yield, and throughput
• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting of SMT defects
• Development and documentation of work instructions and process standards
• Introduction of new products (NPI) into SMT production
• Collaboration with quality, procurement, and development teams
• Hands-on support in daily production when required
• Collaborate with the production team to identify process improvements and implement best practices
• Adhere to all health, safety, and quality standards to ensure a safe and efficient working environment

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an SMT Engineer
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to operate and maintain SMT machines (Yamaha SMT Machines)
• Hands-on experience in setting up new SMT production lines from scratch
• Plan, design, and commission new SMT lines according to product requirements.
• Proven experience in SMT line maintenance and troubleshooting, including mechanical, electrical, and software aspects.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced production environment
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Familiar with relevant health, safety, and quality standard

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM4,800.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
