Are you a seasoned supply chain leader ready to shape the future of warehouse and procurement operations in the mining industry? We're seeking a strategic and hands-on Head of Warehouse & Procurement to drive operational excellence and transformation across the group.

Job Summary:

As our Head of Warehouse & Procurement, you’ll lead warehouse operations and procurement functions to ensure uninterrupted supply of mining spares, consumables, and equipment. You’ll drive operational excellence through Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma practices, enforce safety and compliance standards, and strengthen supply chain resilience in challenging environments. In addition to operational leadership, you’ll be accountable for financial performance by managing budgets, controlling inventory costs, and negotiating cost‑effective supplier contracts to support long‑term growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the Warehouse team at mining sites, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations and alignment with overall supply chain objectives.
  • Oversee warehouse layout, storage optimization, and material handling for mining spares, consumables, lubricants, PPE, and raw materials to maximize space utilization and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement in warehouse processes through Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma practices, focusing on reducing downtime and improving operational resilience.
  • Implement and enhance Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP integration (e.g., SAP MM, S/4 HANA) for real‑time visibility, inventory accuracy, and process control.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels of critical mining equipment and spares, reducing stock variances and ensuring timely availability to avoid costly production delays.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for mine sites, crushers, and fuel bays, ensuring supply continuity in remote and challenging environments.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure ethical sourcing, quality assurance, and continuity of supply for mining operations.
  • Enforce safety, compliance, and quality standards in warehouse operations, including proper handling of hazardous materials and PPE stock management.
  • Develop contingency and risk mitigation plans for warehouse disruptions, strengthening operational resilience in mining environments.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Finance, and Management to align warehouse KPIs and procurement strategies with business goals.
  • Provide accurate and timely warehouse performance and financial reports (e.g., cost of inventory, procurement spend, logistics expenses) for management decision‑making.
  • Manage warehouse and procurement budgets, ensuring cost‑effective sourcing, minimizing wastage, and achieving savings targets.
  • Track and analyze financial KPIs such as inventory carrying cost, supplier payment terms, and procurement ROI to support strategic planning.
  • Promote sustainability in warehouse practices, including energy efficiency and responsible waste management.
  • Coach and mentor warehouse staff to improve productivity, teamwork, and career growth.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and system implementation projects to modernize warehouse and procurement operations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in warehouse and procurement leadership, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
  • Proven success in MNC environments, managing complex and multi-site operations.
  • Strong expertise in process improvement (Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean) and operational transformation.
  • Proficient in ERP, WMS, and logistics technologies and software.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Approachable, hands-on leader who supports team development and continuous improvement.
  • Willing to travel to operational and mining sites for project implementation & engagement.
  • Industry experience in mining, oil & gas, heavy equipment, or industrial products is preferred. Candidates with strong ERP/WMS expertise and proven supply chain leadership will also be considered.
