Job Description - CI/CD & Platform Engineering
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Docker
- Standardise build, test, and deployment processes for secure and consistent releases
- Security, Compliance & Governance
- Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to support deployments
- Support security reviews, documentation, and issue remediation
- Integrate security practices (e.g. vulnerability scanning, secrets management) into SDLC
- Core Platform Ownership
- Manage platform components such as NGINX, Docker environments, and SSL/TLS setups
- Ensure system performance, stability, and monitoring
- Operations Readiness (Day-2)
- Handle transition from project delivery to operational support
- Prepare documentation, runbooks, and support procedures
- Resilience & Continuity
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Support risk assessments and improve system reliability
- Data Exchange & Integration
- Develop secure data exchange pipelines with external parties
- Ensure compliance with security standards (encryption, access control, audit logs)
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related IT discipline
- At least 2 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, or infrastructure/platform engineering roles
- Technical Skills (experience with typical DevSecOps tools):
- CI/CD: Hands-on experience with GitLab pipelines for build, test, and deployment automation
- Containerisation: Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
- Web/Proxy: Experience with NGINX or similar reverse-proxy tools, including SSL/TLS management
- Systems/Infrastructure: Linux administration (preferably RHEL or CentOS)
- Security: Knowledge of vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and secure configuration standards (e.g., CIS benchmarks)
- Exposure to disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity management (BCM) practices is advantageous
- Ability to work across software delivery, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, particularly in secure on-premise environments
- Strong documentation skills to produce runbooks, procedures, and support models for smooth transition to operational (Day-2) support
