Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations:

  • Manage and streamline core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, university policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal audits and manage risk mitigation related to HR practices.
  • Serve as a point of contact for HR queries and employee relations issues, resolving conflicts effectively and confidentially.
  • Responsible to handle HR operations from end to end.
  • Responsible for any other task from time to time.

Education & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, MIHRM) is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Preferably with experience in the education sector / higher education institutions (private or public universities, colleges, or schools).
  • Strong exposure to HR operations, recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Hands-on experience with academic-related HR matters (e.g., teaching permits, contract renewals, adjunct/visiting professors, external examiners) will be a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act, labor laws, and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and HR reporting tools.
  • Good understanding of talent management, training & development, and succession planning.

  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives to support university goals.

Other Requirements

  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, hands-on, and people-oriented.
  • Strong command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
