Engineer (Procurement)
Location: Juru, Penang
Salary: RM3,500 per month
Employment Type: 12-Month Contract (renewable)

Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Engineer (Procurement) to join our Healthcare Technology team in Juru, Penang. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, inventory control, supplier coordination, and spare parts management to support the maintenance and operation of medical equipment across healthcare facilities.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, excellent coordination abilities, and a keen eye for inventory and procurement processes to ensure timely delivery, cost optimization, and uninterrupted healthcare operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities including sourcing, quotation requests, purchase requisitions, and purchase order processing.
- Support cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities to optimize procurement expenditure in line with company targets.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records of spare parts, item codes, and procurement documentation.
- Develop and maintain spare parts catalogues, including specifications and images, to support standardization and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts and equipment.
- Perform quality inspections on received spare parts and equipment to ensure compliance with required specifications and functionality.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and technical teams regarding spare parts availability, repairs, replacement units, and maintenance requirements.
- Track procurement progress, delivery schedules, pricing, approvals, and inventory movement in accordance with company procedures.
- Provide regular updates to operational sites regarding procurement status, estimated delivery timelines, and spare parts availability.
- Coordinate spare parts exchanges between sites when required to minimize equipment downtime.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement, inventory management, and operational workflows.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in quality, safety, health, and environmental programs as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with 1–3 years of experience in procurement, inventory management, biomedical engineering, or healthcare technical services will have an added advantage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Oracle) will be an added advantage.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
