Job Description

Responsibilities

Company Description Cox Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is a dynamic provider of engineering support services across Malaysia’s industrial and construction sectors. The company specializes in scaffolding, structural works, manpower resourcing, technical consulting, and system commissioning, supporting the full lifecycle of engineering projects. With nationwide reach and rapid mobilisation, its teams deliver reliable and compliant solutions in urban, industrial, and remote environments. Cox Engineering focuses on safety, innovation, and continuous improvement, serving clients in oil and gas, construction, infrastructure, and manufacturing. The organization offers a practical, results-driven environment for professionals who want to contribute directly to high-performance engineering projects.

Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid On Site Supervisor role based in Penang and Kedah, with some flexibility for work-from-home tasks such as reporting, planning, and coordination. The On Site Supervisor will oversee day-to-day site operations, including coordinating workforce activities, delegating tasks, and monitoring progress to meet project timelines and quality standards. This role will enforce safety procedures, conduct toolbox meetings, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The supervisor will liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to clarify technical requirements, resolve site issues, and report on project status. Responsibilities also include verifying materials and equipment on-site, maintaining accurate documentation, preparing daily and weekly reports, and supporting inspections, testing, and commissioning as required.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience supervising on-site operations in construction, oil and gas, infrastructure, or related engineering environments.
  • Strong skills in workforce coordination, task planning, and on-site problem-solving to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Solid understanding of site safety practices, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance, with a commitment to a safety-first culture.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation relevant to structural, scaffolding, or mechanical works.
  • Proficiency in basic digital tools for reporting, scheduling, and communication (e.g., email, spreadsheets, site-reporting applications).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse site teams, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills for daily reports, checklists, and progress tracking.
  • Relevant diploma, certificate, or degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Prior experience in scaffolding, structural works, or commissioning environments is an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel to various project locations as needed and to work in outdoor and industrial site conditions.
