BYD Malaysia Hiring! Full Time Technical Manager - EV Charging in Selangor - Ricebowl

The Technical Manager is responsible for leading the technical planning, design, implementation and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure projects. The role ensures all technical activities are executed in compliance with safety, regulatory and quality standards while providing technical guidance to internal teams, contractors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design, review and implementation of EV charging infrastructure projects.
• Provide technical expertise on charging systems, electrical infrastructure and grid connectivity.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Support site assessments, feasibility studies, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with project lead and business teams to deliver projects successfully.
• Investigate technical issues and drive continuous improvement in system reliability and performance.
• Monitor emerging technologies, industry standards and best practices related to EV charging infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical infrastructure, energy, utilities or EV-related industries.
• Strong knowledge of EV charging systems, power distribution, grid integration, and electrical safety standards.
• Experience in project implementation, commissioning and technical troubleshooting.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants and technical teams.
• Proficient in technical documentation, engineering drawings and project reporting.
• Able to converse in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
