The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is an autonomous research institute within NUS. IPS is hiring an Executive (Data Quality Management) for Social Lab on a yearly renewable contract. The role oversees QC data administration and supports audit checks for survey fieldwork, with opportunities to build core QC operations skills and gain exposure to advanced data processing and analysis.
Job scope
Manage QC data for assigned projects, including telephone validations, audio audits, onsite checks, and observations.
Ensure all work is carried out according to project specifications.
Review, clean, and rectify discrepancies across multiple datasets; ensure consistency and accuracy across variables.
Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for survey links and questionnaires.
Perform data coding, cleaning, and processing in line with SSOC, SSIC, or other provided code frames.
Manage longitudinal/panel data (e.g., merging and stacking across waves using syntax).
Conduct operational analysis and reporting using SPSS and Excel; prepare quality reports and visual summaries to support decision-making.
Train interviewers and provide timely feedback to the Field team; evaluate data quality and report findings.
Liaise with vendors and clients on project-related matters.
Support vetting of questionnaire translations when required.
Perform other QC or data-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or diploma holder with relevant experience.
Experience in SSOC and SSIC coding; strong interest in data analysis.
Strong data management and technical skills; experience in SPSS, Python, R, and HTML.
Experience with a Case Management System, SPSS DimensionNet, and Qualtrics.
Good knowledge of SPSS syntax for data checks and processing.
Fluent in at least two languages (written and spoken).
Meticulous, detail-oriented, able to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
